ADELAIDE MEN'S ROSARY CRUSADE
The Adelaide Men’s Rosary Crusade began in August 2023, when a small group of young men gathered to publicly pray the Rosary on the lawns of St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Cathedral. As the crusade gained momentum, the gathering moved to Mary MacKillop Plaza—in the square on the other side of the Cathedral—offering a more visible and public witness to the faith.
The group of dedicated and faithful men of Adelaide, continue to gather publicly on the First Saturday of each month to offer reparation to God, in honour of Our Lady of Fatima and her requests.
In 1930, Our Lord revealed to Sister Lucia five specific offences and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for which He asks us to make reparation through the First Saturday Devotion:
-
Blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception
-
Blasphemies against her Perpetual Virginity
-
Blasphemies against her Divine Maternity, while refusing at the same time to acknowledge her as the Mother of all mankind
-
The efforts of those who implant in children's hearts indifference, contempt, or even hatred for our Immaculate Mother
-
The offences of those who outrage her directly in her holy images
To faithfully complete the First Saturday Devotion, one must, on five consecutive First Saturdays, go to Confession, receive Holy Communion, and recite the Rosary—meditating on the Mysteries of the Rosary for at least 15 minutes—with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the offences committed against her.
